Multi-Media show to Highlight Contribution of Armed Forces Post-Independence

As part of the celebrations to mark the 71st year of Independence, a multi-media show highlighting the role and contribution of the Indian Armed Forces post-Independence, will be organised at the India Gate lawns from tomorrow. The show will comprise a mix of beam laser show, movie clips, 3D mapping and laser animation.

The theme of the show is ‘Armed Forces – Pride of the Nation’. It will depict the role of the Armed Forces not only as guardians of the nation’s frontiers, but also their contribution in nation building through maintaining peace, promoting developmental activities, conducting disaster relief operations, participation in games & sports and United Nations peacekeeping operations.

The show will be open for public viewing from August 12 to 18 inside the India Gate Circle. The timings will be from 1900 hours to 2200 hours. Each show will be of 30 minutes duration, repeated three to four times. Citizens are requested to join hands in salute to our great nation which has come a long way in the last 70 years of Independence and also in saluting our Armed Forces.


National Integration Camp (NIC) is being conducted by NCC Group, Secunderabad under the aegis of NCC Directorate (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana) at Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College, Ghatkesar in Hyderabad from 01 to 12 Aug 2017.

The camp was aimed at fostering spirit of National Integration and solidarity amongst the cadets of NCC cutting across cultural, religious, geographical, environmental and linguistic challenges and has drawn a total of 650 cadets from all   17 Directorates of NCC across the country. The participating cadets gained valuable experience by living, interacting, cooperating and working in harmony with fellow cadets from sister directorates.

The cadets participating in the camp were given life time opportunity to listen and interact with distinguished speakers who spoke on various topics relating to Youth and Development. The cadets were also richer in experience having been witness to a series of demonstrations by Rapid Action Force, Local Fire Brigade, Snake Show, Magic Show, Military Band display, Weapon & Equipment display organised by Army. Besides, number of competitions to include NIAP, Cultural, Debating and Quiz were conducted at to imbibing competitive spirit among the participating cadets. Cadets were privileged to have glimpse of Nizam city, Hyderabad during an educational tour to various heritage places & historical monuments as part of the curriculum of the camp.

Air Commodore P Maheshwar, Deputy Director General (AP&T) who graced the camp on 11 Aug 2017 and addressed the cadets during closing ceremony of the NIC camp. In his address, Deputy DG congratulated cadets on successful completion of NIC camp and called upon each cadet to develop qualities of leadership, co-operation, camaraderie and Team spirit with missionary zeal. He also complimented all ranks of NCC Group Secunderabad on successfully completing the camp and for setting very high standards.
