INS Vishwakarma, a premier training establishment of the Indian Navy is located at Visakhapatnam for training Naval Constructor Officers, Shipwright Officers and Hull Artificers in warship design, construction and hull maintenance. Besides, refresher training in Nuclear Biological Chemical Defence and Damage Control (NBCD) including Fire Fighting is also conducted in the establishment for personnel of the ENC. Induction of the new training simulator at INS Vishwakarma now adds a new dimension to the NBCD training of ship’s crew, as it will significantly enhance skill levels of naval personnel in carrying out emergency repairs to damaged underwater hull of ships in adverse condition at sea.
