Army Officer Martyred While Leading An Operational Convoy In Ladakh

Maj L Rambo Singh of the Indian Army, laid down his life while performing operational duties in extreme harsh climate and rough mountainous terrain of Eastern Ladakh while upholding the finest traditions of the Indian Army.  The Officer was martyred while leading a convoy of vehicles carrying operational stores from Tangtse to Karu over extremely inhospitable terrain and treacherous road conditions.

Maj L Rambo Singh was a dedicated and hardworking officer who was singularly focused about his work.  He was smart and intelligent with a happy go lucky nature.  He possessed a million dollar smile on his face.  He was kind and helpful to men under his command with an exceptional brilliant camaraderie.  He was an asset to the unit and organization and shall forever be fondly remembered by the men and the officers of the unit.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs O Surmala Chanu and three years old son, Master Neo Lairenlakpam.
