578 Air Warriors were inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF) at a Combined Passing-Out Parade today at Air Force Station, Tambaram. The Air Warriors went through rigorous and intensive training at the two premier institutes of the base, namely Mechanical Training Institute and Workshop Training Institute, before passing out. Apart from that 24 defence personnel from armed forces of friendly neighbouring countries also completed the training successfully.
Air Commodore Kirti Khajuria, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Bidar reviewed the parade. He was received by Air Commodore S Shrinivas, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Tambaram, Group Captain A Arunachaleswaran, Commanding Officer, Mechanical Training Institute and Group Captain K Narayanan, Commanding Officer, Workshop Training Institute. The parade was followed by presentation of awards and trophies to the meritorious trainees. The passing out trainees were administered Oath/Affirmation on this auspicious day of their joining the Air Force fraternity.
Addressing the newly inducted 'Air Warriors', the Reviewing Officer complimented them on their immaculate turn-out and impressive drill movements. He further added that Air Warriors must strive for professional excellence. He also brought out that with the induction of the state-of-the-art aircraft, equipment and weapon system, the IAF is witnessing major changes in operational philosophy and the IAF today is on the path of transforming itself into a strategic force of great caliber. He urged the Air Warriors to make sustained efforts towards continuous enhancement of their technical knowledge and skills by keeping themselves abreast with the latest changes. He also advised the trainees to maintain exemplary conduct at all times, in keeping with the ethos of the service. The parade culminated with an impressive display of Continuity Drill by the passing out Air Warriors.
The 'Best All-Rounder Trophy' was awarded to Leading Aircraftsman (LAC) Raju Yadav Propulsion Fitter of Mechanical Training Institute and Leading Aircraftsman (LAC) Vipin Yadav Mechanical System Fitter of Workshop Training Institute.
