Lt Col Sankalp Kumar of 24 Punjab regiment was martyred today morning. He leaves behind a 6-yr old son. He was the second in command of the unit (2-I-C). Sankalp was near 31 Field Regiment.
Attack by terrorists at Mahura camp near Rampur in Uri sector at 3 am,QRTs rushed & surrounded terrorists,1 QRT fired upon, causing fatal casualty of an officer & 2 jawans. One terrorist confirmed killed till last reports received. Ops still in progress.
