Governor Of Chhatisgarh Pays Homage To Martyrs

On the occasion of Army Day Shri Shekhar Dutt, Hon’ble Governor, Chhattisgarh placed wreath at the Shaheed Vatika, Rajiv Smriti Vana as a mark of respect to the supreme sacrifice and indomitable valour and courage shown by the Indian soldiers during war in India and abroad in various campaigns. He was accompanied by Brig Balraj Mehta, Commander Chhattisgarh and Odisha Sub-Area, Raipur and Capt (Retd) SS Chauhan, Rajputana Rifles who also paid their respects. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Dutt stressed that we must rededicate ourselves to face the challenges of our country and continue the glorious tradition of Indian Army to keep our nation flag high. He also highlighted the presence of army in the state of Chhattisgarh and various programmmes undertaken for the welfare of Ex-Servicemen and the youth.

The occasion was also used to pay special homage to late L/Nk Hemraj and late L/Nk Sudhakar Singh both of Rajputana Rifles who made the supreme sacrifice on the night of 08 Jan 2013 in the Mendhar Sector at Line of Control. The Governor stressed upon the fact that the sacrifice of the brave souls will never be forgotten.
